As the brief hit of cooler weather continues it is snow which is the focus this afternoon and evening.
Mild weather out west and cooler weather to the east mark the dividing line of rain and snow.
The forecast rainfall type chart below highlights pink where the greatest risk of snow falling is forecast to be.
This puts western Scotland, northwest England and then the central and eastern parts of the Midlands in the firing line, before reaching southeast England through this evening, clearing away overnight.
As to amounts, 1 to 3cm seems likely within these areas, but there could be a few locations on the border of the rain/snow mix that see more.
