Just wanted to show you the predictions of rainfall for the next 7-days
Here's the forecast rain to the beginning of next Wednesday from the GFS. Look at the contrasts between the rain in western Scotland, Cumbria and Snowdonia as well as Ireland, compared with many parts of central and southern England.
This could well be a case of southern and central England actually needing some rainfall but Scotland, the northwest and Ireland desperate for it to stop.
There's a discrepancy between various forecast next week too when the GFS wants to take us into more unsettled weather more widely, whereas the EC sticks with the drier ideas. For now I'd lea to the ECMWF as GFS does tend to want to bring a return to westerly winds too quickly.
We'll keep you updated, but don't be surprised if it isn't early November before the south of the UK sees more significant rainfall.
