The MJO is starting to wake but the October signals for phases 2 and 3 are very weak.

Both phases indicate unsettled cool weather, going against the ideas of high pressure east, bringing a south the southeast flow.

I’s something we will be watching closely this week to see how this develops. Is it ongoing model variance of something more fundemental in the upcoming patterns?
