Our aviation courses are for anyone with an interest in flying. Past delegates have included pilots just starting to fly, private pilots with over 3000hrs experience, microlighters, gliders and hot air balloonists.

The objective of the courses is to make the weather more understandable, and to build a pilots confidence in identifying why certain weather is occurring and how it will affect a flight.

There are two courses, Aviation Weather (Part 1) and Aviation Weather (Part 2).

We recommend that you take Part 1 before Part 2, whatever your flying experience as this extracts most value  from your Weather School experience.

Why take this course?
The tick box exercise of the PPL leads to little weather knowledge. This course teaches you what you need to know.

What topics are covered?
We deal with topics such as The Atmosphere, Global circulation, Frontal systems, Pressure systems, Air masses, Cloud development & forecasting, Weather data followed by a Q & A session (time permitting).

I am an experienced pilot, should I attend? 
Yes, this course has been taught to those with no flying experience, through to 777 pilots and everyone said they learned something from it.

Will this course help me with my PPL? 
You will get under the skin of weather during this course. It will help you think like a meteorologist and explain why weather happens. It is not a crash-course for passing the PPL, but it will make you think and make your exams easier.

What is included? 
Lectures, lunch and refreshements through the day are all included

What time does the course start & end? 
The course last for a full day and runs from 10am to approximately 4.00pm.

Where is the course held?
At the Weatherweb Weather Centre in Wombourne, Staffordshire, WV5 9JD. The Centre is adjacent to the A449, 20 minutes from the M40 & M5.

How much does the course cost? 
The cost is £150 which includes lunch, materials & refreshments.

Payment is due 28 days prior to start of course. Cancellations are only excepted after this in extraordinary circumstances.
