While the British Isles heads towards much colder weather this weekend and much of the USA and Canada have been battling a deep freeze with temperatures below -30C in some places, it's a lot different down in Australia. While not unexpected, as such, given this is the peak of the summer in the Southern Hemisphere, it does look as though the next two weeks will produce some serious heat for much of the interior of the country.
The forecast diagrams below clearly highlight the heat that is on the way with temperatures certainly above average and with more inland areas of the country potentially having temperatures up to 30C to 40C, while only coastal regions will be cooler.
