How Long Will This Dry Spell Last?

I've had several of you asking today just how long this dry spell of weather is going to last. And the answer for most of you is: at least until Tuesday. Below is the accumulated rainfall (from Friday morning until Tuesday morning) graphic from the GFS deterministic model showing that away from the far northwest of Scotland and western and central parts of Ireland we've got a good three or four days of dry weather on the cards.

However, it looks as though we've got a change on the cards as we go into Tuesday afternoon. The graphic below showers the 6-hourly rainfall total from 1.00pm to 7.00pm on Tuesday indicating we've got a band of rain forming through the spine of England and into eastern Scotland.

From Tuesday on it seems as though we've got a return to more mixed conditions across the British Isles as our winds come from the west once more bringing fresher temperatures and a mixture of sunny spells, showers and outbreaks of rain.
