Analogues anticyclone end of the month?

  Here's an interesting one. Taking the analogues for seven-days time, 14th January from the GFS ensemble, I've then projected forwards 10-days to see how these years fared by 24th January. That projection is below. Notice the large anticyclone to the east and the trough to the west.   Now this is the 500mb forecast
