Get set for a windy day ahead as low pressure develops as it moves northeast through the UK as shown by the chart of pressure and rain below.

The strongest winds this morning across parts of Northern England, Wales and southern England.

These winds then transfer through northern and central England, Wales and southern England this afternoon; gusts to 50mph and the risk of some minor damage to trees. With the heaviest rain in Northern England there's also a chance of some local flooding here.

Then by late afternoon and into this evening the heaviest off the rain transfers to eastern parts of England. The forecast gusts below are in knots between 1pm and 7pm.

Once again there is a risk of some slight damage because of those winds in eastern areas.
