We've seen some really notable April frosts recently, all aided by the Arctic air mass which swept across us following Easter.
High pressure and clear skies overnight will remain a common part of the forecast during the next week or so, although with time the air mass will become generally warmer.
The northerly blast of the past week or so has seen genuinely wintry conditions across the hills and mountains of Britain. It comes as no surprise, considering many places have seen at least a flurry of snow or hail just recently even at low levels.
