Farmers Guardian have been one of the strongest supporters of Weatherweb.net and our parent company Weather Consultancy Services Ltd.

Now, these musing normally relate to weather events, but this one is rather different.

I write a weekly column for Farmers Guardian and many readers have become Weatherweb Premium subscribers as well as friends. When you're talking to people regularly via our Weather Live service it's hard not to become friends, if only through a telephone line.

But in July 2016 a sad event occurred in the Farmers Guardian family when young journalist Louise Hartley was struck down by cancer. Louise died on 1st July 2016 at an agonisingly young age.

However, in her memory Farmers Guardian have joined forces with The Louise Hartley Memorial Fund to launch a scholarship scheme to help young people progress in farming.
