Re-visiting the MJO

Back in the middle of February Simon posted a musing on how the MJO (The Madden-Julian Oscillation) was looking. Firstly, just to explain what the MJO is, it is characterised by an eastward spread of large regions of enhanced and suppressed tropical rainfall, mainly observed over the Indian and Pacific Ocean.
