1 - More hot weather ahead: Fresh air will be short-lived early this week as temperatures climb again. Highs of 22C on Monday, 25C in the southeast on Tuesday, 28C Wednesday, then more widely 30C later in the week for central, south and eastern England.

2 - Muggy air: A Tropical Maritime air mass coming in from the mid-Atlantic will feel uncomfortably humid again by midweek onward. Overnight values staying in the mid-high teens in cities. Dampness on grass will be offset by strong daytime sunshine, so if hay-making is your thing, this should help things along, but beware nuisance slow drying days where cloud lingers in the west.

3 - Dry weather for most: With high pressure building, dry conditions will once again prevail. Following some useful rain this weekend, the extended outlook into mid-month is dry, although with time we may have to watch for thundery developments next week.

4 - Drizzly rain northwest: Southwesterly winds drawing humid Atlantic air into western Scotland and Ireland will bring a lot of cloud, thick enough for drizzly rain as a warm front comes in on Tuesday into early Wednesday.

5 - Some coastal fog south and west: A humid atmosphere and light winds brings scope for lingering fog around some of our shorelines, this may vary day to day. The southwest looks most prone, also southern Ireland.
