We are settling into a story of a significant temperature drop through this weekend and early next week.
There are subtle changes to each run of various models, but there does seem to be agreement that we are about to see quite a fall in temperatures.
Thoughts are that the cold air arrives in all but eastern and southern England on Saturday as a northerly wind sets in.
Then all areas seeing the colder weather Sunday and Monday. There's the potential for a slight air frost in some sheltered areas, the first of the season and certainly earlier than we have been used to in recent years.
The god news is there will be some sunshine between showers early next week, most showers east and south.
It does looks chilly for most of the week as the 8-day temperature graph below highlights. There's still time for changes to the forecast but for now it is thermals at the ready.
